THE THOUGHT OF BUTTERFLICATION 變疊游思

The Thought of Butterflication is a non-linear and non-chronicle series of work which describes some thoughts towards an obscure principle and mechanism in this chaotic world. The concept of this series draws reference from “ Butterfly Effect” and “The Butterfly Dream” by Zhuangzi, it is a “Thought” of the artist about the linkage between us and the world: trusting that a tiny change in our inner world (our hearts and minds) can bring a big impact to the surroundings in the outer world in the light of a multidimensional space.

About the thought…

Those butterflies in the zones represent parameters for mundanity. Each of them carries an order itself and change in intensity or power while colliding or merging with one another in the circle.

A Brief look into the references:

1. Butterfly Effect: In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. Chaos theory is approximate to understand all the people getting into the total world and how the total world then react to their actions. Thus finding order in the chaos.

2. 莊周夢蝶 — 莊子 (“ The Butterfly Dream” by Zhuang Zi )

「昔者莊周夢為胡蝶，栩栩然胡蝶也。（自喻適志與！）不知周也。

俄然覺，則蘧蘧然周也。不知周之夢為胡蝶與？胡蝶之夢為周與？周與胡蝶則必有分矣……此之謂物化。」[註 1] 《齊物論》
