The painting was based on one of the versions of “Jiu Ge Tu”(九歌淘),
which illustrated the famous literary work of ancient poet Qu Yuan (屈原).
The original painting told the love story between anthropomorphic deities.
My interpretation deliberately altered the order and meaning by adding modern construction sites near my home.
Demolished due to urbanization, scenes of my old neighborhood only fashioned in memories.
Unlike Qu Yuan who told the story of love between deities, I wanted my paintings to call for our love and memories toward the faded scenes.
